01 / about

Who I am and what I do.

Louis Becker

I look after the tech, data and quantitative tooling at Prescient Investment Management. We are currently migrating to the cloud, re-architecting for it, revamping our data architecture, and reworking our quantitative best practice. After hours I'm doing the same kind of work for myself at a one-person scale: sharpening my infrastructure-as-code, AWS, platform architecture, quantitative skills and figuring out what "personal brand" means without rolling my eyes.

This site is a few things at once. It's notes to self — cheatsheets and things I'd otherwise forget. It's a record of work I'm proud of, mine and the team's. It's a place to put thoughts I want to read back in a few years to see how I've moved. And occasionally, biased reviews of the books I actually finished.

If something here excites you or annoys you enough to want to argue, get in touch — but let's go for coffee.
